APPROVED APRIL 6, 2021 CITY COUNCIL TAX EQUALIZATION MEETING

The 2021 Tax Equalization meeting was called to order by Mayor Dan Imdieke on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. Upon roll call, the following council members were present: Jon Ptacek, Shelly Hauge, Randall Meidinger, Wayne Ehley. Absent: Dennis Morris, Travis Dockter. Also present: Emmons County Director of Tax Equalization Sarah Ohlhauser and City Administrator Sharon Jangula.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Tax Director Ohlhauser presented a list of applicants for the Homestead & Disabled Veteran Tax Credit. A motion to approve the Homestead Tax Credits and Disabled Veteran Tax Credits as presented was made by Wayne Ehley, second by Shelly Hauge. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried. There were 64 Homestead Credits and 6 Disabled Veteran Credits.

The commercial and residential sales for 2020 were reviewed. Tax Director Ohlhauser noted that the overall median sales ratio for residential was 99.21 and commercial was 97.95, both being within the state tolerance level.

The current valuations and recommendations for adjustments were reviewed. The adjustments were for depreciation, map factor, new construction, remodel and other factors. After discussion, a motion to approve the valuations with adjustments as presented was made by Jon Ptacek, second by Wayne Ehley. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried. The overall property valuation in the City will decrease by $2,983,900.

A motion to adjourn was made by Shelly Hauge. Meeting adjourned.
