The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dan Imdieke on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 12:00 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Upon roll call, the following council members were present: Randall Meidinger, Wayne Ehley, Travis Dockter, Dennis Morris. Absent: Jon Ptacek, Shelly Hauge Also present: Sheriff Gary Sanders, City Administrator Sharon Jangula.
The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss placing a ban on the use of fireworks and lanterns in city limits.
Sheriff Gary Sanders informed the council that due to drought conditions and based on input from the local Fire Districts, Emmons County has placed a ban on the use of fireworks; however, the ban does not apply within city limits. After discussion, a motion to allow fireworks, but ban the use of lanterns and bottle rockets was made by Randall Meidinger, second by Dennis Morris. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Randall Meidinger. Meeting adjourned.
